Instagram vs. Reality: Why AI Won’t Build Zenith Alone
They say that in 2026, all you need is a good prompt and a coffee to build an app. Well, after this week, I can tell you that’s the "Instagram version" of reality. The actual building of Zenith? It looks a lot more like a battlefield in Android Studio.
I see the vision: a fully functional, gamified "Daily OS" that helps you master your life. But when we moved from AI-generated concepts to the actual build, Patryk saw a "forest of red."
Left: The smooth UI I envisioned. Right: The red reality Patryk had to fix.
When the AI quits, the Dev takes over
The AI gave us the logic, but it completely missed the "soul" of the Android environment. It "forgot" the Splash Screen (the startup screen that Android 12+ is obsessed with) and failed to organize the Assets and Resources folders. Without a human developer manually fixing these "simple" things, the app wouldn't even open.
We also had to build the .aab (Android App Bundle). Think of it as a smart package for Google Play—it makes sure your phone only downloads the specific files it needs, keeping the app lightweight. AI isn't there yet; it doesn't understand the nuance of optimization.
The Power of Two
It was a tough week. I had to keep Patryk motivated because, honestly, his job was the grind. I’m the one dreaming up the XP systems and the Wallet module, but he’s the one making sure your data doesn't disappear into the void.
This journey taught me that while Zenith is a virtual product, it requires real, physical human grit to exist. We aren't just building an app; we're building a new way to master your day, one fixed line of code at a time.
Ready for the Launch?
We’re building Zenith with no corporate BS—just pure productivity and real work. Stay tuned, the quest is just beginning.
